DIY Recycle a Desk Calendar into a Fridge Note Pad

I dunno about you, but I’m am really into recycling and I don’t like to waste things that can be reused. Thanks to my many years of volunteering I managed (somehow) to understand what sustainability is and how it works.

This is a quick tutorial that will show you how I recycled an old calendar desk into a fridge note pad, hoping that will help you to find inspiration to recycle some of your items as well.

I had an old desk calendar that had really nice post-its on it and I didn’t want to throw them away so I decided that I should give that calendar a new purpose.

You will need:

  • an old desk calendar;
  • a sharp cutter knife;
  • 4 round small magnets;
  • a hot glue gun;

1. I started by laying down, completely flat the calendar and cut the excess part of it – just like in the pictures down below.

2. I glued the 4 magnets on the back side of the calendar; one magnet for each corner.

3. Ta-da!!! Now you have a nice, recycled notepad for your fridge. The empty area can be used to stick the post-its, shopping lists and so on.

This DIY recycle thing is really easy and cheap. You can create one from scratch with a piece of cardboard, some post-its, magnets and glue. Also if you don’t have a hot glue gun, you can use an All Purpose Adhesive, UHU Patafix or even a strong double-sided tape.

I hope that you found this quick tutorial inspirational for re-purposing some of your old stationary items.

      At the beginning I was very, very clumsy when I first started DIYing. You need a little practice and then you will nail it.

    Love this! Such a perfect idea. I have tons of old calendars, and I don’t want to just throw them away. This is such a great way to get some more use out of it.
