Since Autumn is here, and people are starting to lose their minds over pumpkin & apple spice stuff, I thought it’s the perfect time to share with you my ridiculously easy apple tart recipe. My Mum usually bakes this apple tart around this time of the year, because we have lots of apples and it’s a pity to waste them.
You won’t believe how easy this recipe is: all you need are just 4 ingredients. But let’s skip all the talking and start baking.
Servings: 8 | Prep. Time: 20 mins | Waiting Time: n/a | Baking Time: 30 mins | Difficulty: Easy
Ingredients:
- 3 medium apples;
- 400 grams of pastry;
- 30 grams brown sugar;
- cinnamon to taste
See? Told you you need only 4 ingredients!
I buy my pastry frozen, because I never tried to make pastry on my own. And to be honest, it is quite a lot of work to make homemade pastry, so I buy it every single time. You should do the same, because this recipe won’t take more that 1 hour if you do so.
Oh, I almost forgot! You need a tart tin for this recipe. Or any other round tin, to be honest.
Method:
First of all, preheat the oven at 170 degrees C.
Start by laying the pastry in the tart tin. Pierce the dough using a fork. This will prevent the pastry to rise up too much while baking.
Wash and peel the apples. You can leave the skin on, but you won’t get a super smooth and creamy tart. So a little extra work, for a lot of taste. Great deal, huh?
Cut the apple in quarters and take the middle off. Cut the quarters of apple into thin slices. You don’t want them too thin or too thick; the thicker they are, the longer it will take to bake.
Add the apple slices on the pastry – I arranged them in a round shape – and sprinkle the apple slices with brown sugar and cinnamon to taste.
Bake the apple tart for about 30 minutes at medium heat, or until the apples have soften and the sugar has melted.
And this is it! Less than an hour in the kitchen for an amazingly delicious dessert. No cooking the apples before, no filling, or anything complicated!
I think this apple tart is perfect for busy Mums, people that are kinda dangerous in the kitchen or pretty much for anyone who is lazy and it’s in the mood for a homemade apple dessert. It is super easy to put together and surprisingly delicious. I have some other apple tart recipes, but I’ll share them some other time. Meanwhile, enjoy this super easy apple tart and let me know how it turned out for you!

This looks DELICIOUS! I am not much of a baker so I will have to see if I can figure this one out.

Thank you, Joscelyn!
Happy fall to you too!
A simple and clever idea. Something fun to do with kids too!
Yep, kids will definitely love this and things shouldn’t get too messy.
I was never an apple dessert fan but this looks so good! I just might try it!
I’ve never had apple tart before, just pies. I have to say, I think I would still prefer pie because the only reason why I eat apple pie is for the crust 😛 This is really pretty though! Maybe I’d try with a different fruit.
This looks so Good! I’m wondering, what’s the difference between an apple tart and apple pie?
Well, first of all, pies are very different in Europe. Pretty much each country has it in a different way. Second of all, I think the dough is different. We use pastry for tarts and regular dough for pies which are usually rolled out.
Love apple based desserts. You presented this recipe very beautifully.. gonna try it for the weekend.
This looks so yummy! I will have to try it.

Oh yum. I love apple desserts, they are so delicious!
This looks delicious! I love apples and I love tarts, so this is perfect.
You are right, making home made pasty/pie crust is SO hard. I tried it once and decided that I would always buy it premade after that fiasco, haha. I love apple pies/crisp and this looks so tasty!
I never tried to make pastry by myself, but your experience makes me even more to not want to try.
Let me know if you give this recipe a try, Chelsie!
