We all have those horrible days when we can’t wait to get home and enjoy a much-deserved pampering evening.
For those who are not used with the term ‘pampering’ – it’s all about enjoying quality time with yourself and usually, it involves a bubble bath. And a nice drink. So, let’s begin!
1. Turn the lights off
During the evening usually, there is still light outside (not during winter, though). So don’t turn the lights on only if you actually need them. Light some candles instead. The weak light of the candles will help you relax better than a white, disturbing light bulb. Use lavender oil to help you relax. Lavender oil is known for its relaxing properties and its amazing scent will help you calm down and relax. Don’t let the lighted candles unsupervised! LED candles are safer, but never let fire unsupervised. Please be safe!
2. Clothes off
We all know that amazing feeling when we take our bras off, right gals? But guys also enjoy walking naked around the house. It’s something very freeing (haha, funny, huh?) about being able to walk naked. Also, don’t forget to pull your curtain. 😀
3. Bubbly, relaxing bath
As I said previously, there is no pampering evening without a bubble bath. Add a few drops of essential lavender oil and some bath foam and enjoy! The lavender scent will help you relax and the bubbles are a nice addition and a cliche for luxury and pampering.

4. Exfoliate
It is not just about your mind when it comes to pampering. You also have to spoil a little your body as well. Exfoliating is not just for girls! Exfoliating your skin is the easiest way to keep your skin healthy; you get rid of all the dead skin and also stimulate blood flow. So, as long as your body is covered with skin, you’re eligible for exfoliating.
5. Hydrate
After you exfoliate, you must hydrate. Most exfoliating products come with a hydrating ingredient such as oil, but it’s not enough. To help your skin ‘recover’ after the exfoliating process, apply hydrating body lotion to bring back all the moist that your skin lost while exfoliating.
Not to mention that people with dry skin (like me) have to moisturise their skin on a daily basis.
5. Hydrate some more
I highly recommend drinking tea. Although you might be tempted to enjoy a glass of wine, alcohol will dehydrate you faster. If you can’t resist the temptation, fine, drink some wine, but it would be a pity to lose all that hydration that you’ve put earlier.
6. Turn the music on
I don’t know about you, but I really enjoy listening to jazz when I’m working or when I just want to chill out. You can turn the music on from the very beginning and enjoy some really good music while you take a bath.
7. Read or play
I feel very good when I’m reading a good book. When I want to enjoy a pampering evening, I don’t go for difficult books like philosophy, personal development or any other topic that require my full attention.
If reading is not for you, you can try to play some board or even video games. Why not? Lots of people find relaxation while playing different games.
Feel free to substitute this step with any other activity you enjoy such as reading, cooking, knitting and so on.

I really love having a pampering evening now and then. It helps me calm down and I can get my energy back fast.
There is this weird cliche idea that pampering evenings are just for women. This is so not true! Men also need pampering. Maybe they are not a bath-person, but take your man with you in the tub and enjoy a pampering evening together. You both diverse it!
