We all have been through those lazy weekends when you’re not in the mood to do anything, just let the time pass and enjoy it. Or maybe one of those lazy weekends when you are so lazy that you get bored with everything in a second.
1. Sleep in
There is nothing better than being able to sleep in. Sometimes I like to let my alarm set to wake me up at 7 a.m. just to turn it of and roll on the other side of the bed. It feels SO good. You should try it!
2. Breakfast in bed
Don’t let your sleepy mood run away and have breakfast in bed. You have all the time to prepare a fancy breakfast and enjoy it in the bed, while watching cartoons. Am I the only one who still enjoys watching good, old cartoons like Tom & Jerry or Scooby Doo?
3. Pamper yourself
Because you deserve it. Your mind, body, and spirit deserve it. A bubbly bath will always be refreshing. Here are 7 steps to the perfect pampering evening, just in case you’re not sure how to do it.
4. Read
I love reading. And I would love to spend hours lost reading a really good book. You can still be in bed, with a nice cup of tea, enjoying a really good book. Also falling asleep while reading a book is both amazing and frustrating at the same time.
5. Watch TV
If you are not a book worm like me, then you can catch up with all your TV series that aired that week. Sometimes I don’t want to wait until the weekend to watch my favourite TV shows, because I will get lots of spoilers by the end of the week. I get to see Game of Thrones on a Monday morning and I can’t wait until Friday to watch it – because there are spoilers literally everywhere; do you get me now?
6. Play
I kinda love playing board & video games. I will admit that video games do get sort of addictive, but I feel great while I ‘waste’ my time to play video games. Board games on the other hand, require a partner and strategies. I love board games a lot, but sometimes I’m just to lazy to play them, so I turn to video games. 😀 Don’t judge me!
7. Go shopping
I know that it might not sound financially wise, but it is therapeutic. Don’t leave with the straight idea that you have to buy something (like a new pair of shoes or a coat). I usually get very tired when I go shopping because I have to find something. So just go and walk around the shops and if you find something that fits and that you actually need then why not buying it?! You can also try an online shopping round – just to check what’s new on the market.
8. Plan
Planning your next week in terms of work or personal life might not be for everyone. But somehow I feel better when I plan my next week – not something super detailed, just big lines. The fact that I enjoy planning (because I’m a perfectionist) does not have to be an enjoyable activity for you as well.
What I like about planning on lazy weekends is that I am relaxed enough to make stress free decisions. I will also start the next week more relaxed because I know what I have to do that week and I won’t freak out because I’m out of time to do my job and tasks.

I love a good lazy weekend. With two kids, it’s been a long long time since I’ve enjoyed one. But I love to just veg out!
Oh how I miss lazy weekends! I love all these ideas, and sleeping in is my favorite!
Is it crazy that I have never had breakfast in bed?!
That definitely means you should have one ASAP, haha!
I’ve had a whole lazy week off for spring break. I have to say that sleeping in and staying in my pajamas until noon was my favorite part so far! I like to plan ahead too. I’m an uber planner!
I pretty much do all these things on lazy weekends – reading, bubble baths, video games, watch TV. I used to lay in, but my body clock won’t let me sleep in past 8 am. I don’t mind too much, give me more time to do the other things I enjoy.

I was quite frustrated when I started to wake up at 7 or 8 am during weekends. But just like you, now I enjoy it because I have so much time to do a lot of things. Now I’m frustrated when I oversleep, ironically.
I usually make my weekends jam packed full of projects that I want to complete, but I still allow myself some indulgences, such as sleeping in (a must as I never sleep well on weekdays), a bit of reading, and perhaps some TV show or movie watching if I’ve gotten everything on my to do list done ?
I love doing almost all of these things! Adding to your wishlist on Amazon is great way to window shop without going anywhere. (You can even do it while laying in bed!)
Yep. And it’s also free. 🙂
I love lazy weekends probably more than anything else. There is nothing like going to bed Friday night knowing you don’t have to set an alarm the next morning.
So true!
I would love to sleep in but I have a toddler! haha I like to plan my next week and relax as much as possible. I also like to catch up on projects!
Lol, I’m glad I saw this post because I was planning to make this a lazy weekend. I’ll be gaming all weekend on my PS4 and Alienware. I’m currently catching up with the Assassin’s Creed series right now (I’m on Black Flag). Then I might check Monster Hunter and play Horizon again. What games do you like to play?
I have a Portable PlayStation and I played God of War and Assassins Creed as well. Finished Chains of Olympus but got stuck killing 3 trolls on the second game – really addictive and frustrating.
Yes to sleeping in! I love sleep! LOL. I also like to read, watch TV shows, and eat some good food on lazy weekends.
Amen to reading! I used to read on the weekends in college because I never had time to during the week (all of those assignments and meetings really took up every second). But now I am on summer break, I am reading almost every day! Summer break is a long weekend for college students, so I am considering doing all of these. Lol. Hope you have a great week!
Much love,

I’ve also formed the habit of reading each morning during weekend, without even realising it.
I agree with the reading suggestion! That’s always how I choose to spend free time. <3
If only I could have weekends like these!!! Someday my kiddo will be old enough to allow me to have weekends like these again. 😉
Love these ideas, and I have definitely done each of them on one weekend or another. I love pampering myself cleaning up and re-painting my nails for the week 🙂 Also, planning. I lovvve to plan things and make lists, so my Sundays always include weekly planning of some sort. I wish I was better with meal planning though… that’s definitely where I get too lazy!
Sunday is pampering day for my nails, too!
You sound like a very organised person, Joy! I’m sure you’ll figure out how to plan meals too. I want to create some sort of a food planner, hoping that will make cooking and grocery shopping easier.
I still haven’t tried breakfast in bed! Well, I have at a hotel, but does that count ?!?!!
Oh, no the hotel doesn’t count. Haha! Breakfast in your own bed is different. You should try it! If you have someone else make it for you, is even better.
This sounds like an awesome weekend to me! Unfortunately with a toddler, lazy weekends are a thing of the past, but they were always my fave!
That’s why I’m glad I don’t have kinds – yet.
Anyway, hope you’ll get some lazy weekends back soon.
