Ah, the long-awaited summer. The season when you can wear the tiniest clothes possible, without any judgment and remorse. Instagram has filled already with perfectly staged perfect summertime photos.
If you’re planning a quick summer gateway, here are the things you must pack.
1. Beach Bag
I can’t count how many times I forgot to take mine. And because I usually forget to take it, I have to buy a cheap one from somewhere else. This is how I ended up having way too many beach bags. So be sure that you don’t forget yours.
Not to mention that is huge and you can put everything in one place (plus his wallet, phone & sunglasses 🙂 ). The bigger the beach bag, the merrier.
2. Sunglasses and Sunscreen
While I usually don’t forget about sunscreen, because I’m obsessed with it, I usually end up having no sunglasses with me because I wear glasses and since there’s always something hanging on my nose, I tend to forget to take my sunglasses.
Sunglasses protect your eyes and your skin from the harsh UV rays, preventing wrinkles to form.

3. The Straw Hat
It’s the most epic symbol of summer. It is chic, light and most important it keeps the UV rays away, thus protecting your skin and hair.
4. The Boho Clothes
Even if you’re talking about the tent dress or a boho blouse, they are a must. They will make you feel fresh and chic. Boho clothes are breezy and perfect for hot summer days in the sun.
Oh, and they are light to packing as well.
5. The Camera
Sunsets and sunrises at the seaside are amazing. Capture these moments with your a-lot-of-pixels camera instead of your iPhone – it will so much worth it when you will see them on a computer. Trust me! 🙂
6. The Denim Shorts
Denim shorts are the go-to for any summer gateway. Do I have to say more?
The legend says summer won’t come until every girl has at least one pair of denim short in her wardrobe.
7. A Touch of Sparkle
And I mean accessories. Simple and minimalist, or big, they will add a nice touch to your tanned skin. Tip: try gold accents to emphasis your tan.
8. That Good Book
Because nothing compares to a morning spent on the beach, drinking cocktails and enjoying a really good book.
I prefer taking my Kindle since I can stuff lots of books or audiobook on it and it’s tiny and lighter than a regular book.

9. A Touch of Make-up
Even though I’m not a fan of wearing makeup to the seaside, on a night out some mascara and a red lipstick might do wonders.
10. Flip Flops
Because nothing says summer than flip-flops.

Love this list! Everything you mentioned is what I always bring with me. I love sitting on the sand reading a good book.
I always seem to forget the beach bag as well! I try to just house it in my luggage permanently so I never forget it when packing for the next trip.
You hit every nail on the head – can’t go to the beach without any of the above!
A good book is a must, for sure. Great post!
I’ve got an almost-Summer getaway planned for September (I’m from Australia, so our season are switched, before you get confused hahaha) and I’m SUPER excited! I haven’t been on a holiday in over 4 years (!!!) so my packing technique is rather rusty. MY FREAKIN’ SUNGLASSES! I always manage to forget my sunnies hahaha. Not this time! Great guide, girl. I’ll be coming back to it in a few months for a refresher – super handy. 🙂 x
Oh, but we go to Greece or Italy in September to get a tan as well, so it’s not confusing at all.
I usually don’t forget my sunnies anymore, but I am SO good at losing them… Sometimes I don’t take them just because I’m afraid I’ll lose them.
Enjoy your long-awaited holiday, Christie!
YAS to the straw hat! I’m still on the hunt for the perfect one for this summer, but I can’t wait for beach trips! Denim shorts are my fav for vacays, too. They’re perfect over bathing suits!
I use an instant camera from fujifilm on my beach days! Great polaroids and it really captures the summer vibes.
Oh, I would love to have an instant camera! Polaroids are so nice indeed.
Lovely post! This is exactly what I usually pack!
